"A Heavy Abacus" by the Joy Formidable

Watch the inspirational music video for the hit single ‘A Heavy Abacus’ by indie rock band The Joy Formidable.   The video was directed by award-winning filmmakers Paola Mendoza and Topaz Adizes in honour of World Refugee Day.  It stars young Sudanese refugees living in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Northern Kenya.

There are nearly 44 million refugees and displaced persons in the world today. 2000 refugees arrive each month in Kakuma Refugee Camp where this video was made.
